God of War Collections and Remasters

The Greek God of War games were collected four times: God of War Collection (PS3, 2009, by Bluepoint Games; PS Vita 2014), God of War: Origins Collection (PS3, 2011, by Ready at Dawn), God of War Saga (PS3, 2012) and God of War III Remastered (PS4, 2015, by Wholesale Algorithms). Only God of War III Remastered is still sold, as of Nov 4, 2026.

Sony has collected the Greek God of War games four times. God of War Collection (PS3, Nov 17, 2009) put the first two games on one disc, remastered by Bluepoint Games; God of War: Origins Collection (PS3, Sep 13, 2011) did the same for the two PSP games, by Ready at Dawn; God of War Saga (PS3, Aug 28, 2012) bundled God of War III with Origins Collection and more; and God of War III Remastered (PS4, Jul 14, 2015) brought the third game to a new console. As of Nov 4, 2026 only God of War III Remastered is still sold, at $19.99.

No collection was made for PS5, and the next Greek release will be the God of War Trilogy Remake, with no date. The new game, God of War Laufey (PS5, May 20, 2027), continues the Norse saga instead.

God of War Collection (2009)

Sony announced it on Sep 1, 2009: God of War (2005) and God of War II on one Blu-ray Disc at 1280 x 720, anti-aliased, at 60 frames per second, with Trophies for the first time, for $39.99. Sony's Scott Rohde credited its partnership with Bluepoint Games. It came out in the US on Nov 17, 2009 and in the UK and Australia on Apr 30, 2010, by IGN's database; in Europe it first came inside the God of War III Ultimate Trilogy Edition, a replica of Pandora's Box. IGN called it "the definitive way to play" the two PS2 games, scoring it 9.4, though the in-engine cutscenes stayed at standard definition.

Sony counted 2,418,516 copies by May 30, 2012, downloads included. A PS Vita version followed on May 6, 2014 at $29.99, scoring 73 on Metacritic. IGN's database also lists Sanzaru Games among the Collection's makers, without saying which version it worked on.

God of War: Origins Collection (2011)

Ready at Dawn brought its two PSP games, Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta, to PS3 with stereoscopic 3D, DualShock vibration, a Dolby 5.1 mix and Trophies. The disc, released Sep 13, 2011, also holds a Legionnaire Kratos skin, the Forest of the Forgotten combat arena and a roundtable of the five Greek-era directors, taped on Sep 1, 2010 at the El Portal Theater in North Hollywood. It scored 84 from 58 critics, and Sony counted 711,737 copies by May 30, 2012.

God of War Saga (2012)

God of War Saga launched with Sony's PlayStation Collections line on Aug 28, 2012, from $29.99, with remastered HD games, Trophies and a month's PlayStation Plus trial; 3D worked "only in God of War III and God of War: Origins Collection." Sony's post confirms those two among its contents but did not list the whole set in the text we read, so this page does not either. HowLongToBeat's players put the whole Saga at 37½ hours on Nov 4, 2026.

God of War III Remastered (2015)

0:43 Announced for the series' tenth anniversary, it came to PS4 on Jul 14, 2015 in the US, Jul 15 in Europe and Jul 17 in the UK. Wholesale Algorithms remastered it for 1080p at 60 frames per second and added a photo mode, and it includes all of the PS3 game's downloadable content. It scored 81 from 67 critics. As of Nov 4, 2026 it is $19.99 on PlayStation Store, plays on PS5 and is in the PlayStation Plus Premium Classics Catalog. More on God of War III.

Which collection can you still buy?

Only God of War III Remastered. As of Nov 4, 2026 playstation.com has no current page for God of War Collection, Origins Collection or God of War III on PS3, and whether the PS3 and PS Vita versions can still be bought on PlayStation Store was not confirmed.
